Research topic:
Enabling zero-emission high-speed ferries along the coast of Norway.

My research is focused on the development of a model to calculate electric power and energy usage, incorporating an optimal energy management system for high-speed passenger vessels. This model, featuring a zero-emission electric power and propulsion system, is designed as a Python-based simulator aimed at reducing energy consumption and emissions while improving system efficiency by optimizing the operating conditions of each power source within the powertrain. The simulator will serve as an essential platform for study and performance analysis and will be integrated as a key component into the decision support tool developed for the ZEVS project.

Background:

  • MSc in Control Engineering from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Babol Noshirvani University of Technology
  • BSc in Control Engineering from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Semnan University

Research interests: Energy management system, Hybrid Electric Power systems, Machine learning

Supervisor: Roger Skjetne

Co-supervisors: Sverre Steen, Mehdi Zadeh

Funding:

  • Research Council of Norway project 320659, "ZEVS: enabling Zero Emission passenger Vessel Services" (ZEVS, RCN).
  • Research Council of Norway project 01192740, "STEESMAT: Smart Transformer for Enhanced Efficiency and Sustainability in Maritime Transportation" (STEESMAT).
