Background and activities

I am a PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics at the Department of Language and Literature. I have a cand.philol. degree in Russian from the University of Oslo, where I wrote my thesis on the Russian absurdist author Daniil Kharms. Later, I studied for interpreter in Russian, and I have been working as a language consultant and interpreter/translator for the Interpreting and Translation Service at the Municipality of Trondheim over the last decade.

PhD project

I am currently working on my PhD thesis on interpreter-mediated consultations at general practitioners, with the working title "Interpreter-mediated consultations in primary care: Doctor – minority patient’s role-relational interactional dynamics in Norwegian healthcare delivery".

This is an interdisciplinary project, and my supervisors are professors Gøril Thomassen, Patrick Kermit and Linn Getz.
