About

I am a PhD Candidate at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT) and part of the DigiKULT research group. My research looks at intersectionality and power issues in future imaginaries of Artificial Intelligence and how they can promote the development of human-centric technologies. It is well recognized within Science and Technology Studies that knowledge production is a social practice. Visions and strategies for the future influence research and technological development now. Some of the biases of AI have already emerged and a better understanding of the role of intersectionality in the process of AI development through future imaginaries can help avoid future pitfalls and promote more inclusive technologies.

I am part of the Horizon Europe project “BIAS: Mitigating diversity biases in the labor market” and the Horizon 2020 project “Robotics4EU: Robots within and for society”. In December 2022 I was selected as one of the two winners of the Soroptimist International Italy call for proposals for research projects on “Combating gender stereotypes in different contexts, with a focus on gender-based violence in the virtual and real world and the impact of technologies on gender asymmetries”.

Academic background

I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences for Globalization from the University of Studies of Milan and a master’s degree in international Affairs at the Geneva Graduate Institute with a major in Global Security and a minor in Gender Studies. My master’s thesis proposed a post-phenomenological analysis of the phenomenon of technology-facilitated gender-based violence and how it affects gender relations.

Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions for my work, thank you.
