Background and activities
My PhD work is done as part of the ECOPA project (Economic Analysis of Coordinated Plug and Abandonment Operations), financed by the Research council of Norway. The objective of this project is to determine how the large costs of plug and abandonment (P&A) can be reduced by better planning and coordination of activities, while securing environmental safety.
In this PhD work we will develop a mathematical programming model to derive costs of plugging under various scenarios. The model makes use of the frameworks of integer and stochastic programming.
