Background and activities
Tomas Nordeide Hjartnes completed his MSc in Reservoir Physics in 2015 at the Department of Physics and Technology at the University of Bergen. During his master's thesis he focused on an experimental analysis of CO2-foam for enhanced oil recovery in fractured limestone rocks. He started his PhD at Ugelstad Laboratory in February 2017 under the supervision of Johan Sjöblom and Sébastien Simon. The PhD project is aiming at improving separation of oil-water emulsions using an electrocoalescence device combined with destabilizing agents.
