Vinay Kumar Gautam
About
I am working as a researcher in the Process Systems Engineering group at the Department of Chemical Engineering. I am associated with the projects: MarketPlace, VIPCOAT and Bio4Fuels.
My research interests are at the crossroads of multiple disciplines, e.g. computer science, biology and chemistry. My expertise is mainly in computer-aided modelling, simulation, and visualisation of biochemical/chemical processes.
Previously, between 10/2017-10/2021, I worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Computer Science, Aalto University. I was associated with the Academy of Finland Project - Algorithmic Designs for Biomolecular Nanostructures (ALBION).
I have a PhD in Information Technology from the Department of Computer Science, NTNU. My PhD and Post-PhD research have been focused on DNA Nanotechnology, where I applied modelling and simulation approach to design dynamically-controlled nucleic acids-based systems with potential biomedical applications in the areas such as biosensing and drug delivery. My master's and bachelor’s education is in electronics engineering and Information Technology from India.
