About me

My main research focus is to use Systems Biology approaches to identify fundamental molecular mechanisms of innate immunity and cancers to develop actionable targets for the clinic. In addition, I use bioinformatics and computational biology approaches to analyze omics-based data.

My work in innate immunity pertains to the omics-based characterization of Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathways. I am using proteomics and metabolomics approaches to study TLR signaling.

I work on the cancer biology of lung, gastric, head-and-neck and rare gynecological cancers. During my doctoral studies, I discovered CAMKK2 as a potential therapeutic target for gastric cancer and identified potential serum biomarkers for gastric cancer. I currently work on the omics characterization of rare gynecological cancers and am part of the GYNOCARE COST (gynocare.net) action to study these cancers.

Previously, I was involved in the draft map of the human proteome project, which was published in Nature, Netpath- a resource on signaling pathways and proteome projects on body fluids and eye tissues.
