NTNU Team Bioenergy brings together experts from many fields to explore how we can produce cleaner energy from biological resources. Our work covers everything from growing robust crops to turning waste into valuable fuels and materials. The team studies how biomass can be produced and transformed efficiently, how advanced biorefineries can extract value from several types of raw materials at once, and how sustainable these solutions truly are for society and the environment.

By combining laboratory experiments, computer modelling and real-world data, we aim to help Norway—and the world—develop greener energy systems that make smart use of land, plants and waste.

Team Bio energy focus on:

• Improving biomass production, crop resilience, and conversion methods for clean fuels and chemicals.
• Developing integrated biorefinery systems and finding efficient ways to convert waste into energy.
• Assessing sustainability through life cycle analyses, land use studies and evaluations of climate and environmental impacts.
