NTNU Health and Life Sciences - Team Noise

Team Noise investigates how human-made soundscapes affect people, livestock, and wild animals.
Although there is some awareness of noise and its effects, we often know surprisingly little about what is actually heard by both livestock and wild animals – such as reindeer, moose, and foxes. To properly assess human-made noise emissions, it is therefore essential to increase our knowledge about how soundscapes impact both humans and animals.
For example, there are indications that wind turbines affect reindeer herding. One possible explanation is that reindeer react to the sounds from the turbines, leading them to change their migration routes and calving areas.
Are you curious about human-made soundscapes? Please feel free to contact us if you would like to explore these questions in collaboration with Team Noise.
