Background

The major objective of FranSed project is to develop francis turbines capable to handle huge amount of sediments. The project will create technical basis for successful future industrial developments by performing well-focused research and innovation activities on the key bottlenecks of hydropower units that restrict their operating range due to high sediment concentration in the water.

The project further aims at transfer of knowledge and technology and mobilization of students and researchers among three universities (NTNU, KU and IITR).
