14th International Meeting on Thermodiffusion

14th International Meeting on Thermodiffusion

– May 25-27, 2021 - Trondheim, Norway

About

The 14th International meeting is part of a series which has been arranged every second year since 1994. Last time was in 2018 in London, organized by Prof. Fernando Bresme and his colleagues at Imperial College. The next meeting will be organized Norwegian University of Science and Technology - NTNU as a web meeting.

The topics of the conference will follow the traditional pattern of

  • Theoretical, experimental, and numerical methods to investigate thermodiffusion in binary, ternary and multicomponent mixtures

  • Non equilibrium thermodynamics of fluids under thermal stress

  • Non-equilibrium fluctuations in thermally inhomogeneous fluids

  • Macromolecular solutions, airborne particles, colloidal suspensions, and biological fluids: the thermophoresis case

  • Thermodiffusion in porous media and enhanced oil recovery

  • Soret-driven hydrodynamic instabilities and convective patterns

  • Thermodiffusion effects in crystal growth and polymer processing

  • Thermodiffusion in microgravity

  • Thermodiffusion in biological transport

  • Applications of thermal diffusion

Topical issue in EPJE

We have agreed with The European Physical Journal E (EPJE) to make a topical issue on Thermal non-equilibrium phenomena in fluid mixtures. Please see the call for papers here:
