New European Bauhaus brings opportunities and impact to NTNU’s research and innovation activities through:
- Enabling impact at local, regional, national and international level in line with NTNU’s strategic ambitions and core vision of ‘Knowledge for a better world’
- Funding opportunities for transdisciplinary research and innovations across humanities and social science, material sciences, business and health sciences, built environment, energy and natural sciences,
- Funding which supports researchers to work in an integrated and impactful way for social mission with multi-level stakeholders.
NEB Facility
NEB Facility is the New European Bauhaus funding tool to revitalise neighbourhoods. It is part of Horizon Europe, and offers €360 millions in research and innovation funding, and €360 millions in implementation funding,
NEB Facility funded projects can enable NTNU researchers from across disciplines and faculties unique opportunities to work with transdisciplinary approaches. NEB Facility supports scientists and researchers from all traditions to bring their cutting-edge research and innovation directly to communities, commercial stakeholders and individuals for tangible impact in neighbourhoods through social and environmental transformation.
From 2025 to 2027, the three key destinations for NEB Facility are
- Connecting green transformation with social inclusion and local democracy
- Promoting circular and regenerative approaches in the built environment
- Developing innovative funding and business models for neighbourhood transformation
