Web Design - One year programme - Gjøvik

Programme structure

Hybrid learning format

The one-year web design programme comprises 60 credits and is offered in a hybrid learning format.

This means that all courses provide the option to be accessed digitally, with lectures either recorded or streamed live depending on the course. Additionally, some courses offer an on-campus version for students who prefer in-person learning.

The hybrid format allows flexibility for remote participation, making the programme adaptable to different needs. However, it is important to note that while remote learning offers flexibility, the programme includes compulsory assignments with set deadlines throughout the semester, and final written exams are conducted on campus.

Focus areas and courses

The programme is divided into two semesters, each covering essential topics to build a solid foundation in web design. The first semester focuses on core knowledge and theory, while the second semester emphasizes practical applications and projects.

The study is structured into three focus areas:

Design and methods

  • Grafiske verktøy, prinsipper og metoder
  • Brukersentrert design

You learn the fundamentals of design principles and user-centered design methods.

Collaboration and strategy

  • Prosjektledelse
  • Etikk, bærekraft og samfunnsansvar

You develop essential project management and teamwork skills and learn to incorporate ethical and sustainable practices to help you lead successful web projects.

Technical foundations

  • Grunnleggende web
  • Praktisk prosjekt

You gain practical experience and ensure that you are prepared to transition from learning to creating simple, static websites.

An elective is offered in the spring semester, providing students with added flexibility to tailor their learning experience.
