Course content

The course will address drawing and graphic presentation.

Learning outcome

Introduction to basic techniques in drawing presentation related to design with emphasis on form and analysis of form. Introduction to the principles in layout and visual presentation in design.

Form and Colour
Knowledge:
Use of simple analogue drawing tools in design sketching and fundamental principles of graphic design
Skills:
Use of drawing to generate, develop and present concepts, use of graphic design to organise and present complex information
Competence:
Generate and communicate complex ideas and concepts visually in a well-organised readable form and with a semantically-relevant visual language.


Design history
Knowledge: The candidate shall have knowledge about the fundamenal aspects of the history of design.
Skills: The candidate shall be able to describe central phenomena in the history of design.
General competence: The candidate shall be able to identify design objects and phenomena he encounters with respect to their design-historical context.

Learning methods and activities

Exercises, individual supervision. Lectures, seminars, and student colloquia. The course is coordinated with the teaching in course TPD4105 Product Design 2 - IT. Lessons will be given in English if some international students follow the course.

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Industriell design (MTDESIG)

Required previous knowledge

The course is reserved for students studying at the Institute for Product Design
