Course content

The course will be committed to place development on regional and local level emphasizing the land-use part of the municipal masterplan for specific areas in accordance with the Norwegian Planning and Building Act. Land-use, planning process and communication are essential.

Learning outcome

Knowledge
The candidate
- has thorough knowledge about place development, planning program, the land-use part of the municipal master plan, planning provisions, impact assessment and risk and vulnerability analysis
- has good knowledge about cooperation and participation in planning processes
- has knowledge about suitable drawing programs for planning work

Skills
The candidate
- will be able to carry out analyses and material for regional and municipal planning
- can work out land-use part of the municipal master plan and perform planning processes

General Competence
The candidate
- will be able to solve regional- and municipal planning tasks in differernt situations and circumstances
- can organize and communicate well in participatory and cooperative processes

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and exercises.

Further on evaluation

The exercise counts 50% towards the final grade in the course. Both exercises and written exam must be passed to pass the course. You can register for a re-scheduled examination in the next exam period.When exercises have been passed, grading will be valid for 1,5 years and might be included for a re-scheduled exam.
