About the course

Course content

This course is given on demand when sufficient numbers of PhD students show interest. It covers advanced topics within fish biology, using up-to-date primary scientific literature. The course will usually be based on a mixture of lectures and seminars, where the students will be challenged to understand and disseminate all aspects of the research covered by the assigned literature.

The course will be given every second year (2016,2018).

Learning outcome

The course aims at extensive studies and discussions of modern fishbiology principles and through studies of new literature to extend the understanding of basic fishbiology in the theoretical basis for management and sustainable use of biological resources.

The student will get a thorough understanding of topics covered by the literature.

Learning methods and activities

The course will be intensive with daily seminars and discussions in group and plenum.
