Course content
The course constitutes the practical part of the artistic or pedagogical investigation of the students' Master's project. The course consists of planning, implementation and communication of the practical part of the project, according to the approved project plan.
Learning outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, students will have:
- Thorough knowledge about the application of theatre in developing the candidates own artistic or art educational product.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will know how to:
- Work out a concept and a plan for an artistic or art educational product.
- Found an artistic or art educational project in a context and establish material, financial and human resources for the project
- Lead, disseminate and communicate in an artistic or art educational form.
Learning methods and activities
DRA3191 focuses on the development of a performance, a creative process or the methodology for a workshop. The learning activities / instruction within the course will be adjusted according to the students' project plan and the focus of the approved project.
The project is normally conducted by a group and in cooperation with external partners in Trondheim or other places. This means that the student must be present at campus throughout the semester. The course is offered in the fall semester only.
The learning objectives will be reached in close cooperation with the student's assigned supervisor, and the student is expected to make the necessary choices concerning research methodology, artistic and/or pedagogical methods and documentation techniques.
Course requirements:
Project plan (1500 - 2000 words) giving an account for central concepts and elements of the project, as well a progress plan. Day of delivery; one week before exam.
This course is taught in Norwegian only.

The final assessment for DRA3191 Project Course, Practical Option, consist of;
A public presentation of the practical-artistic research process and the results it has produced. The presentation can be in the form of a performance, a performative event, a work demonstration, an interactive workshop or a combination of the beforementioned forms. The presentation/performance should have a duration of between 30 - 60 minutes and will be followed by an oral examination of max. 30 minutes. The oral examination will adjust the grade of the practical project.

Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to the Master's programme in Drama and Theatre.
