About the course
Learning methods and activities
The course lasts 10 weeks, which consists of one week of preparatory learning with lectures, skill training, seminars and submissions, and 9 weeks of fieldwork. Additionally, there will be learning activities such as writing log, supervision and oral presentation.
The course has longitudinal teaching. External fieldwork mainly take place in the municipal and specialist healthcare services, and with private service providers.

Implementation and assessment of practice is governed by "Regulations on studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), "Guidelines for implementation and assessment of practical studies at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences", NTNU. A separate practical booklet has been prepared with detailed guidelines in relation to the practical studies, available at the web page for practical studies.
Participation in practice preparations is compulsory. Minimum 80% attendance.
If the student receives a failing grade, the entire internship period, including preparatory teaching and mandatory submission, must be completed again. In the event of a failing assessment, the next opportunity to complete the course is at the next regular completion of the course. The student has the opportunity to complete the same practical subject twice.

Required previous knowledge
The course has study rights requirements and is reserved for students who have been admitted to the bachelor's study in occupational therapy at NTNU in Gjøvik/Trondheim. The course is completed at the place of study at which you have admission. All prerequisites must be passed before the student can start the course.
