Course content

This part is a continuation of part I (FH3102), but the course can be taken independently of part I.
The courses have their theoretical basis in salutogenic thinking and resource orientation. Salutogenic thinking is a general characteristic of health-promoting work, which represents an alternative way of thinking than the disease-prevention work.
The teaching and the themes in Part II will focus in-depth on the interaction of nature-cultural-health. Humans have lived in harmony with nature. A sense of belonging and place and experience of being integrated into the wider natural world have characterized our cultures
Seen from such a perspective, the local community and access to green areas and nature are important arenas during childhood that children, young people and the elderly can come together to learn, exchange experiences and develop in games and activities.
Increasing urbanization means that more and more people live in areas with little access to green surroundings and nature, which can reduce our mental and physical well-being. Access to parks and green lungs is of great value to many people, and this is especially important in cities. With more and more people living in cities around the world, long-term and sustainable urban and landscape planning is essential. The focus is to raise awareness about the good opportunities everyone has for being in nature and exercising through outdoor activities. Physical activity, nature and outdoor life have proved to be stress buffers. Promoting health measures in the local community that affect children and young people's environment while growing up has both a welfare benefit and a socio-economic benefit. The importance of investing in "green infrastructure" in urban areas will be to meet present and future residents and a growing generation's need for places that allow the spending of leisure time.
The course will have an in-depth focus on the role and importance of singing and music in the local. Together, the positive effects of both music and song can contribute to a better life in the sense of better well-being , better health or increased well-being. Song and music are important to individuals, groups and communities. It can play a role as a community tool or medicine. Song and music are a life-giving source, a treasure trove that gives us keys to our inner space. In some cases, the use of music can reduce the need for medication and be an affordable, cost-effective intervention without side effects. In recent years, it may seem that interest in the effects of song and music has increased in society, and new studies have constantly been published about the impact of song and music on human life and well-being.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminars, excursion, walking-dialogues.

The gatherings are not compulsory.Tuition is offered 2 x 2 days per term; i.e. 32 teaching hours.

Submission to BB.

Further on evaluation

Re-scheduled examination is arranged in following semester, and the exam could be subject to change of assessment form. This means that in the case of a postponed examination, the candidate can have an oral examination if this is stated.

Specific conditions

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
