Course content
This course is about the connection between the structure and function of the body. The central theme of the course is the musculoskeletal system, and includes both macroscopic and microscopic anatomy, and the mechanical principles that underlie movements and the effect of muscles on bones and joints. The course also focuses on the structure and function of the somatic nervous system.
A central form of learning in the course will be practical activities and skills training with fellow students. The course will provide beginning practical skills, including assessment of movements and physiotherapeutic techniques, as a basis for further developing skills in physiotherapeutic examination in the course FYST1123 Physiotherapy 1 - Functional examination
