About the course
Course content
This course is about physiotherapeutic functional diagnostics with knowledge and skills in examining the body, movement and function. The central theme is basic functional examination, and includes movement analysis, assessment of motor skills, relevant clinical examinations of the musculoskeletal system and orienting neurological examinations. The course also focuses on the assessment of examination findings and the use of ICF to sort information and findings from the examination.
A common theme will also be basic clinical reasoning about how the approach in an examination situation must take into account different assumptions in the patient and situational factors, as well as an assessment of the quality, relevance and usefulness of the examination methods.
Throughout the course, examples of current functional changes, symptom pictures and clinical signs of various conditions in the musculoskeletal and nervous systems will be used in the teaching.
