About the course
Course content
Cells and tissues, the integumentary system, the blood, the muscular and skeletal system, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the urinary system, the endocrine system, the nervous system,the reproductive system and normal histology.
Learning outcome
Knowledge - the student:
- Can explain the structure and function of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems
- Has knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Can describe the microscopic appearance of cells and tissues and relate this to their function in the body
Skills - the student:
- Can recognize the normal microscopic morphology of the major organ systems
Competence - the student:
- Can communicate and discuss subject-specific knowledge in anatomy and physiology
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, laboratory courses.
Total workload for each student will be 200 hours. There will be about 64 scheduled hours with lectures and laboratory courses.
Mandatory activity: Four digital laboratory exercises with accompanying journals and two mandatory group work have to be completed and approved in order to take final exam.

Practical laboratory exercises with accompanying journals have to be completed and approved in order to take final exam.
Approved group assigments.
In case of an re-take of exam, the written exam may be changed to an oral examination.
Specific conditions
