About the course

Course content

This fully online course introduces students to the fundamentals of web design using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). The course emphasizes self-paced learning and collaborative assessment. There are no online video lectures; instead, the course provides resources that students can access anytime. The primary focus is on developing practical skills at a very basic foundational level.

Students will learn how to structure web content with HTML and style it effectively with CSS, concentrating on responsive design, modular coding, and best practices.

Methods:

Students must submit two compulsory assignments that will be peer-reviewed.

  • Oblig 1: An individual, peer-reviewed assignment with a maximum of two attempts. As part of this compulsory activity, each student will conduct peer reviews for three different projects per iteration.
  • Oblig 2: A group-based, peer-reviewed assignment with only one attempt. Each student will conduct peer reviews for three different projects.
  • Peer Review: Students will assess each other’s projects, providing constructive feedback based on established criteria.
  • Self-Assessment: Students will complete checklists after submitting their work to reflect on their learning and developmen.
  • Group Projects: Collaborative assignments that will be submitted as a single group project.

To be able to take the exam, all the compulsory assignments must be approved. A final report is then delivered and it is graded as Pass/Fail.

Regarding re-sit:

  • If you do not pass all requirements, you must wait until the next completion of the course.
  • In case of a failed compulsory assignments; these need to be re-taken the next time the course is running.

For voluntary course retake to improve grade, all assessments in the course must be retaken.
