About the course
Course content
This course allows the students practice and further improve their skills in Web design and project management. The students will explore and document a real-world issue, explore possible solutions for it, and develop the solutions into a minimally viable product (MVP) leveraging the skills and knowledge obtained throughout the study program. The students will work in groups to gather requirements, design solutions, and develop a working Web-based application.
Learning outcome
Knowledge
Students, upon completion of this course, will know:
- the steps required to take a project from basic idea to a website;
- tools and techniques for evaluating their project effectiveness;
- strategies to maximize their Web app sustainability;
- ways to deal with issues in a collaborative environment.
Skills
Students, upon completion of this course, will be able to:
- independently use modern Web technologies to solve real-life issues related to Web development;
- outline a specification for the project, and document project code and design;
- divide project tasks in a balanced way among the group members;
- handle conflicts and issues between group members and product owners.
Competence
Students, upon completion of this course, will know how to:
- design and develop a static website, from start to finish;
- collaborate with others to successfully conclude a project;
- elicit and document system requirements;
- evaluate the effects of their design and development choices on website quality and sustainability;
- present prototypes and MVPs publicly.

All compulsory activities must be approved to be able to take the exam.
Form of assessment
- Group project presentation (100%).
Students must receive a passing grade on all assignments in order to pass the course.
If failed, the course must be taken again at the next ordinary completion of the course.
For a voluntary course retake to improve a grade, all assessments in the course must be retaken.

Web Design (ÅRWEB)
Required previous knowledge
- IDG1292/D Webcoding (or IMT1291)
- IDG1011 Front-end Web development (or IDG1100/D)
