About the course

Course content

This course is offered as a follow-up on TPD4505 Design Theory, Specialization Course, and cannot be chosen separately. The course offers students the opportunity to specialize in a particular aspect of Industrial Design Engineering. Building on the theoretical insights acquired during the writing of a scientific article for TPD4505, the students are offered the possibility to develop theoretical insights through a design research or exploration project. This could for example involve a survey, interview study or experiment, the development of a concept, prototype, manual or method relevant for the chosen area of specialization. All results must be open for publication.

Learning outcome

Skills:

The candidate has performed a larger independent project in their particular field of study, based on a thorough literature study, and practiced skills to use, develop and reflect on this.

General qualifications:

The candidate has strengthened his or her identity in a chosen area of expertise in design.
