About the course

Course content

The course will provide a theoretical and practical introduction to how to design good evaluation tools and further develop your own teaching. Based on relevant theory, empirical data and experience-based knowledge, as well as competence goals, students must plan, implement and evaluate their own teaching plans in physical education or sports. The subject will have a link to practice 3 (PPU4613).

Learning outcome

Knowledge objectives - The student will have:

  • insight into theoretical and empirical perspectives that can contribute to understanding the field of practice and how one's own assumptions affect the performance of the teaching role
  • practical and theoretical insight into evaluation work.
  • insight into the use of different methods in connection with formative assessment and evaluation of teaching

Skills objectives - The student shall be able to:

  • analyze how previous experiences and preconceptions of physical education and sports subjects influence their own teaching practice
  • plan and carry out teaching programs in physical education or sports.
  • design tools for evaluation, and then evaluate their own teaching.
  • discuss how own teaching can be developed or changed to meet the students' requirements

Learning methods and activities

2 hours of lectures and group discussion every week. Certain weeks are reserved for writing the assignment/paper.

In the assignment, the student shall plan, implement and discuss current teaching plans in physical education or sports subjects based on theoretical perspectives.

Further on evaluation

Both the assignment and the oral exam must be passed to receive a passing grade.
