Course content

The course is intended for students who want to conduct a research project in sports science based on social science perspectives. The subject teacher must approve each project and assign a tutor. The written report should contain an elaborated and reflective approach to the aim of the project, theory and research methods as well as a discussion of the results and implications. The report should be approximately 15-25 pages long (5500-10000 words). The report can be written indivudually or in small groups of students. If the report is written as a group work, the report should normally be somewhat more extensive.

Learning outcome

The main objective is to develop an understanding about how theory and empirical data are interrelated and used in sport science research.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures 2 hours pr. week in approxemately 5 weeks. Compulsory individual tutoring and seminars. Students present their own work and comment on other essays, including their own bachelor essay. Form of assessment is the Bachelor report and oral examination. The oral examination may adjust the grade on the essay by 1 unit.

Prerequisites: IDRSA1008, IDRSA1009, IDRSA1002, IDRSA1003 og SOS1002 or equivalent
