- Fast prototyping
- Virtual prototyping
- 3D printing intro
Learning methods and activities
Modelling and simulation will be introduced first, with focus on theory and applications. The student will be asked to use software tools to model and simulate different dynamic systems. Then, fast prototyping will be introduced, based on which the student will learn how to realize prototype from design, modeling to testing. The design course will also include virtual prototyping. We will present some case studies, such as the virtual crane prototyping project, to show how to verify the effectiveness of design in virtual world.
