Course content
This course addresses questions on how we develop, preserve and organize knowledge about archives and collections. The teaching introduces the role of records management, its main principles, and the business of collections and records managements systems and overall features. This includes records management and registry entry systems, classifications schemes or systems, archive plans (the quality tools for archives and records management), and business systems.
The systems are used to record knowledge about archives and collections, about their context or background, and their content and various physical characteristics and properties. The systems are used in a variety of contexts. They are designed in a variety of ways and are based on various principles by purpose, or where the systems belong in the archives and collections landscape and lifecycle.
