Course content
Complex functions, complex integration, Laurent series and residue calculus, Fourier series, ordinary differential equations in real and complex variables.
Learning outcome
The students shall know and be able to apply basic theory of functions of one complex variable and compute integrals using residues. They shall also know basic results on existence and uniqueness for the solutions of ordinary differential equations in real and complex variables, and master some basic techniques for the treatment of singularities for such equations.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and exercises.
Retake of examination may be given as an oral examination.
Recommended previous knowledge
The course is based on MA1101 Basic calculus I, MA1102 Basic calculus II, MA1103 Vector calculus, MA1201 Linear algebra and geometry and MA1202 Linear algebra with applications
Course materials
Will be announced at the start of the course.
