Course content
Topics are: Axiomatic foundation of Euclidean and hyperbolic geometries and models of these. Geometric constructions and transformations, with possibility of using dynamic geometry in datalab. The connection with high school geometry and also the historical development is covered to some extent. Other geometrical topics may also be included.
Learning outcome
The aim of the course is to give an introduction to Euclidean and hyperbolic geometries, and to set this in a historical context. The students shall learn how to use a dynamic geometryprogram, and how it may be used as a teaching method.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, compulsory exercises and work in datalab.
Portfolio assessment is the basis for the grade awarded in the course. This portfolio comprises exercises 20 % and a written final examination 80 %.

Recommended previous knowledge
The course is based on Mathematics R2 or 3MX from grammar school or equivalent knowledge, and it is recommended that one has passed the exam in MA1201 or an equivalent course.
