Course content

Polyphase systems, electrical machines and transmission systems. Power supply network and electricity security. Digital controls, instrumentation technology, automatic control systems and process control. Programming a microcontroller.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The course will provide knowledge about electrical machines, AC voltage, phase shift, control and control technique, and understand simple regulators.

Skills: Must be able to calculate simple electrical circuits and evaluate electrical equipment for mechanical structures. Must be able to know the structure and programming methods of an industrial robot, program a microcontroller and have skills in process control.

General competence: The candidate should see the importance of environment and safety, as well as the technical and financial consequences of the chosen solutions. He / she should be able to communicate and communicate various problems and solutions within the subject area, to different target groups.

The assessment consists of a practical project assignment with a report that is done in groups (this part counts 70%) and an individual part (that counts 30%). To improve the grade, the whole course must be retaken with the possibility of approval of an individual part.
