Course content

The topic gives an introduction to biomarine industry. It will emphasize the presentation of value chains including fishery, harvesting and aquaculture. Sustainable utilization of marine raw material.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The student should; be able to assess innovation opportunities in the biomarine area. Have knowledge of important marine by-products and ingredients. Know examples of bioprospecting. Know the Norwegian fishing industry and have knowledge about fishing methods. Knowledge of the instrument for funding R & D. Learning outcomes - Skills: The student should: be able to reflect on the possible use of various marine raw materials and constituents to know opportunities and challenges in different parts of the industry knowledge of selected companies in the marine value chain Learning Outcomes - Skills: The student should; Knowing current innovation and innovation processes within selected marine areas, knowing current research institutions and marine clusters, an overview of value creation in different parts of the biomarine industry
