About the course
Course content
The subject Pedagogy and student knowledge 1 aims to give insight into the teacher's role in the students' learning and well-being. Central to the subject is competence about how teachers facilitate learning and well-being, as well as teaching planning. Through active participation the students must develop didactic competence about pupils' learning and motivation. Competence in planning, carrying out and assessing teaching is essential. The students will build up research-based knowledge about teaching, inclusive learning environments, motivation, assessment for learning, aesthetics and observation as a method. Working with these topics, a clear link to the field of practice is emphasized. Discussion are facilitated to connect theory and practice.

- has knowledge of how competences in interactions and basic skills can contribute to learning and well-being among pupils
- has broad knowledge about learning, learning environment, and motivation as regards the individual pupil and the community
- has knowledge on how practical, creating and aestethic learning processes can have a connection to health, well-being and learning
- has knowledge of the importance of good relationships in schools

The student
- can apply subject terms and justify didactic choices in theory about learning and teaching
- can reflect and use scientific knowledge in teaching and develop a safe and inclusive environment for learning for the pupils
- can cooperate with other students in planning, implementation and assessment of teaching
- can use methodological knowledge about observation

The student
- can plan, implement and assess teaching for pupils based on existing framework factors and current curriculum works
Learning methods and activities
In the subject, emphasis is placed on teaching with a large degree of student activity and variation in working methods. Much of the work takes place as group work. Emphasis will be placed on connections to the field of practice as an arena for professional development and professional practice.
There are two mandatory work requirements, one in writing and one oral.
