Assessment
Assessment method: Portfolio examination developed through the compilation of an examination portfolio.
The examination portfolio consists of several contributions presented in a variety of formats, including written, visual and practical forms of expression. Taken together, the portfolio must demonstrate the student’s breadth and depth of competence in Art and Crafts, and be grounded in relevant theory and subject knowledge related to materials, techniques, processes and professional development. All contributions must be documented in a way that clearly communicates both process and outcome, for example through text, images, video or QR codes.
The contributions are developed both individually and in groups and form part of teaching activities and practical work throughout the semester. The examination portfolio is assessed as a whole and awarded a single letter grade (A-F). No grades are given for individual components.
The mandatory submissions included in the course are considered coursework requirements and must be approved before the examination portfolio can be submitted. Guidance is provided throughout the work with these requirements. Coursework may be completed individually or in groups, and may include practical creative work, the development of material and technique samples, process documentation or academic texts that link the work to relevant theories in Art and Crafts. Additional coursework requirements not directly connected to the examination portfolio may also occur.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) may be used as a support tool, for example for idea development and structuring. Its use must be clearly described in any submitted work.
Text, images, or other content generated by AI must not be used directly in the submission but should instead be applied critically as part of the student’s own independent work.
