About
About the course
Course content
Language and literature are fundamental subject areas in all Norwegian didactic research. Language and language didactics, like literature and literature didactics, are broad subject areas that include, among other things, cognitive, socio-cultural and aesthetic theories. The course offers specialization in particular theories, and prepares the candidates to use these in their own research and in the teacher profession. A central activity is to analyze oral and written language, non-fiction and fiction from the present and past. Children's and young people's language, children's and young people's literature and children's and young people's oral and written text creations are given particular importance. Central to the subject is also work with aesthetic, creative and exploratory processes in the Norwegian subject. Throughout the term, both a general syllabus is taught for all the candidates and the students choose to specialize on either language or literature.
