About the course
Course content
This course consists of the master's thesis and a thesis-relevant individual syllabus. Under supervision, the student designs and carries out a research project that is documented through a written thesis, the master's thesis. The topic of the thesis is decided by the student in consultation with the supervisor and will, therefore, vary from student to student. The student also plans an individual syllabus of academic literature relevant to the master's thesis.

Independent work with individual or group supervision.

- Participation in a midway seminar
- Participation in supervision based on text drafts
Further on evaluation
Master theses is normally written in form of monograph. It is written individually or in pair. It the thesis is written in pair, a document describing each candidate's contribution has to bee attached. Normally, the evaluation will bye separate for the two candidates writing together.
Specific conditions
Admission to a programme of study is required:
Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education for Years 1-7 (MGLU1-7) - some programmes
Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education for Years 5-10 (MGLU5-10) - some programmes
Recommended previous knowledge
Passed 30 credits at master's level in mathematics education from the fourth year of primary and lower secondary teacher education or equivalent.
Required previous knowledge
-Passed Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 2 (60 stp in total) or similar
-Passed Research-and-development-thesis from third year at leacher education for primary school
Course materials
The student, with guidance from the supervisor, collects relevant literature and other resources.
