About the course
Course content
Free improvisational tutored training in ensemble. The course is designed in such a way that it requires three or more registered students for it to be taught.
The course can be included as an elective in the Master in Music Performance degree. The department assigns elective courses to students based on their prioritized preferences, as well as academic and resource considerations.
Learning outcome
Skills:
The candidate:
- will develop the ability to spontaneously create musical forms and structures, both solo and in ensemble.
Learning methods and activities
Regular training in free improvisation in ensemble. The course may in some cases be taught as an intensive course that may require additional student led activities.
Instruction is obligatory and demands minimum 80% attendance.
Compulsory assignments
- Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction.
Further on evaluation
Practical exam: free improvised performance in ensemble.

Music Performance (MMUSP)
Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to Master of Arts in Music Performance.
