Course content

Nordkurs (Nordic summer course in language and literature) gives students in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands the opportunity to study Nordic languages, literature, and culture in one of the other Nordic countries during the summer.

Learning outcome

Students who have completed the course

• have knowledge about Norwegian language structure and the Norwegian language community
• have knowledge about a central topic or period in Norwegian literature

Learning methods and activities

Attendance at all lectures and course activities is mandatory.

Obligatory assignments:

• Up to three written assignments or oral presentations
• Satisfactory participation in mandatory course instruction

Compulsory assignments

• Up to 3 written assignments and/or oral presentations
• Minimum 80 % attendance at lectures

Required previous knowledge

Scandinavian studies students only. You have to send an application to Nordkurs to participate. Sufficient previous knowledge in one or several of the Nordic languages is required. See: https://www.nordkurs.nu/ansogning
