About

About the course

Course content

Same as NORD1104. Students are not expected to be able to express themselves in appropriate and correct Norwegian (bokmål or nynorsk) to the same extent as Norwegian students. NORX-courses may not be included in a Norwegian university degree or qualify for admission to Teacher Education.

Learning outcome

Same as NORD1104.

Learning methods and activities

Teaching: Lectures, analysis course, and seminars.

All the required reading will not be covered during the lectures, and students must work individually with the required readings. Student activities (group work, oral presentations, and participation in discussions) are central to the course.

Working together in study groups is a good supplement to both teaching and study, and the students are encouraged to participate in study groups arranged by the department (here, training in academic writing and writing practice will be discussed, as well as discussions of the theoretical concepts), and to form their own study groups.

Obligatory assignments:

  • Minimum 75% attendance at lectures.
  • Minimum 75% attendance at analysis courses.
  • Up to 2 approved written assignments (determined by the course instructor at the start of the semester).

The absence limit is intended to cover normal sick leave and similar situations, and you will not be granted valid absence from teaching based on a medical certificate, even if the absence is due to circumstances beyond your control. In special cases, agreements for exemption can be made with the course coordinator, preferably at the start of the semester.

Language requirement: The student can write the assignments and exam in NORX1104 in either bokmål or nynorsk.

Approved obligatory activities are valid for two semesters (the semester in which approval is granted and the following semester).

Compulsory assignments

  • Minimum 75 % attendance at lectures
  • Minimum 75 % attendance at analysis courses
  • Up to 2 approved written assignments
