Course - Sustainable Product Design PhD individual course - PD8301
Sustainable Product Design PhD individual course
About
About the course
Course content
This course offers the possibility for PhD students at IVT to follow a customised ecodesign course at IPD. Those that would like to follow the regular course which is also open to master students, are welcome to take TPD5100.
PD8301 is meant for those PhD students interested in doing a customised project, which is open for discussion. Generally it will involve some individual discussion and tutoring, to arrive at project description which is of mutual interest, to the PhD student and to IPD. This project is preferably in the form of a piece of original research or an extensive literature review, resulting in a paper that can be submitted for publication. Throughout the research, supervision in the form of discussion meetings is offered (obviously).
Learning outcome
To practice publication writing skills.
To explore and understand transdisciplinary boundaries between sustainable product design and the student's individual background and interests.
Learning methods and activities
Depending on the number of participants and the chosen subject, the course may require self study of relevant theory; discussion/seminar with supervisor or other relevant staff/students during the writing process, and a final presentation. Given the low number of students expected to participate, the organisation of the course is very flexible and individually oriented, and will be discussed at the start of the project.
Recommended previous knowledge

of the natural, technical or social sciences.
