Course content
The course deals with the acquisition of skill in modern Arabic language in written and oral form.

According to the course curriuculum, a candidate who passes this course is expected to have the following learning outcome (defined as knowledge and skills):

- have knowledge of pronunciation and intonation
- have knowledge of Arabic culture related vocabulary
Skills
The candidate
- can read and write simple sentences
- can talk about some basic topics in Arabic
- can understand modern Arabic speech with slow and clear diction
Learning methods and activities
Teaching consists of tutoring. In order to take the exam, the student must attend the pre-approved course in an Arabic speaking country. A course certificate must be submitted to the department before the final exam can be taken. Students answer a home exam based on the material and guidance throughout the semester.
