Course content
How should we understand culture and cultural diversity scientifically? Historically, social anthropologists have developed perspectives to understand and explain cultural dimensions of human life. In a globalized world with frequent interaction and communication between people with different cultural backgrounds, cultural identity and diversity have become more significant in our lives and in public discourse. Knowledge about cultural diversity is pivotal to understand contemporary societies, and current global issues. Through course work, you are challenged to problematize and discuss cultural diversity from a general anthropological perspective.
