About the course
Course content
The master's thesis is an independent research or development work that is suitable for strengthening one's own and others' capacity in working with inclusive practice and special education.
The master's thesis must demonstrate the ability to design, initiate and carry out research or development work with clear pedagogical relevance. Furthermore, the thesis must show the ability to analyze and discuss data material in light of social education or special education theoretical perspectives. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the learning process in strengthening one's own action competence as a teacher.
In line with the study program's emphasis on collegial cooperation, it will be possible to develop a master's project together with other students, in addition to designing individual projects.

Learning methods and activities
The course is completed with four physical sessions. Forms of learning: Student presentations, supervision and workshops with good opportunities for participant activity, reflections, discussions in small groups and in plenary, exercises, and supervision related to written work. There will be digital supervision between the physical sessions.
Compulsory assignments
- Participatoin in 3 out of 4 sessions
- Participation in supervision of the master thesis work
Further on evaluation
The thesis is graded pass or fail. The grade pass is awarded to a thesis that demonstrates that the candidate masters the knowledges, skills and general competencies of the subject. The master thesis must demonstrate how experience based knowledge has been developed through the project.
