  • Innovation and sustainable business models
  • Strategic evaluations and decisions
  • Implementation and control, including management of multidimensional goals - and results

Learning outcome

Knowledge:

  • of the historical development in the field
  • of the most important perspectives, theories, and analyses in the field
  • of strategy processes with leadership as an important aspect
  • of the relationship between innovation and strategic decisions
  • of how strategies contribute to sustainable value creation
  • of the state of the art in the field of strategy

Skills:

  • to be able to carry out internal and external analysis and actively participate in strategy development.
  • to be able to make good, sustainable decisions through consideration of different strategic alternatives.
  • to be able to find, evaluate, and use relevant literature sources.

  • to understand, communicate, and discuss strategic terms, challenges, choices, and consequences.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, plenary discussions, exercises, group work, and compulsory work. Lectures will be in Norwegian. The compulsory work may include obligatory attendance(es). Details on compulsory work are given at the start of the semester.

Students are expected to arrive well-prepared for class activities in all lectures, and the course requires mandatory attendance in several lectures and learning activities throughout the semester. This will be shown in the course plan for the semester.

There is no re-take exam for home exams. This is in accordance with the Regulations on studies at NTNU.

Approved assignment is valid for the following academic year.
