Course content

The course provides a basic introduction to theories of organization, organizational development and management. Among the topics addressed include organizational structure, organizational culture, organizational change, organizational learning, innovation and organizational trends and developments in today's society.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: Students in this course will gain an insight into the basic theories of organizations and how organizations are structured, managed and works.

Skills: After completing this course, students will have aquired a common language and understanding that can be used working with current challenges related to the management, development and change in organizations.

Learning methods and activities

2 hours of lectures every week throughout the semester. In addition a number of seminars related to the work with the term papers will be organized. The compulsory activity can only be completed in the fall semester. Form of assessment: 4-hour written exam.

  • Approved term paper(s). Number and requirements will be announced in the beginning of the semester
