About the course
Course content
Both the philosophy of science and quantitative methods are included in this course. The course concentrates on statistical techniques like correlation, factor and regression analysis.
Learning outcome
Knowledge - the student shall:
* be able to read academic literature in the social sciences where regression models are used.
Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:
* carry out analyses with the help of the analytical models in which they received instruction.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures equivalent to 2 hours per week and tutorials/seminars including supervision equivalent to 2 hours per week. Lectures will sometimes be held in Norwegian and sometimes in English.

Form of assessment: Individual paper.

None.
Required previous knowledge
SOS1002 or IDRSA1016/IDRSA1017 or the equivalent. The requirement must be fulfilled to be admitted to the course.
