Knowledge:
To convey in-depth knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in a limited field within construction engineering, e.g. planning and construction of underground spaces, subsea tunnels, ventilation of tunnels.
Skills:
The student may use relevant software related to the focus area, e.g. blast design for underground space, prepare and analyse construction schedules, estimate construction costs for a project.
General competence:
The student may perform an analysis of alternatives in a construction project.
The student may use scientific litterature by which she may update herself about the relevant research front.
Learning methods and activities
The teaching may be given as lectures, seminars, laboratory teaching or supervised self study. Exercises and term report. Oral exam and assignments constitute the basis for the grade in the course. Oral exam counts 50% and an individual report on a selected topic counts 50%.
