Course content

The course concentrates on activities in the front end of projects. Core topics are: Concept development. Project evaluation. Uncertainty analysis. Contract strategy. Early contractor involvement. Cost development in projects. Ethics. Flexibility. Project governance. Early warning signs. Disputes and dispute resolution board. Profitability analysis.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: The candidate shall have knowledge about challenges in the front-end of projects, methods for project analysis in the front end and methods for project evaluation. Skills: The candidate is able to use methods for project analysis in the front end and understand how the results can be used. General competence: The candidate can understand the importance of the front end of projects.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and compulsory exercises. The final grade will be given as a grade by letter, based on a written final exam (100%).

Further on evaluation

If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.

Specific conditions

Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
