Course content

The course will give experience in programming, innovation and experimental development of technological solutions, including evaluation. Students will work with relevant technology to get practice and skill that will be useful in general in the study programme.

Learning outcome

Basic knowledge about programming, planning of smaller projects, and experimental testing of each other’s solutions.
Basic skill in the programming of interactive solutions that may include sensors, images, sound and other multimedia content.
Basic skills in testing and evaluation, and how to give constructive feedback to others.
General competence in independent exploration and development within programming and computer science.

Learning methods and activities

Students will work with programming challenges under guidance in the lab. The main activity in the course is to work in a creative way and construct, try out and experiment with solutions. The lectures given will be a combination of introductions to basic principles and platforms, combined with lectures intended to inspire. The course is organized as a combination of individual assignments, project works in teams and lectures. There are 5 compulsory assignments and all have to be passed to pass the course. Mandatory to meet at 80% of the scheduled classes.

Further on evaluation

Retake of the course will require new participation/deliverables in all activities.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Computer Science (MTDT)

Required previous knowledge

This course is reserved for students in their first year of the master program in computer science.
